The One Dinner Away service is operated by ONE DINNER AWAY S.R.L. (“The Provider”, “We”), with its registered office at 22-26 Regele Ferdinand Street, 3rd Floor, Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, identified by unique registration code 54246021 and Trade register number J2026016776001, administrators Adrian Șuteu, Daniel Muntean, Mihai Munteanu, contact email: adrian@onedinneraway.com.
One Dinner Away is a web-based social platform that facilitates the matching of individuals, based on shared interests and other criteria, for organized dinners or drinks. One Dinner Away does not guarantee any specific social, personal, or romantic outcomes resulting from participation in the Services. One Dinner Away acts solely as a facilitator and is not responsible for the conduct or interactions of users during or after events.
The Provider is not a party to any agreement between Users, or between Users and venues.
Access to and/or use of the One Dinner Away web-based platform confers the status of USER, who accepts, from such access and/or use, these terms of use. Users must be at least 18 years old, participate only as individuals, and provide accurate and truthful identity information. One Dinner Away reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate participation at its discretion and in accordance with applicable Romanian law. By using the platform, users confirm that they have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
Users must create an account using a valid email address and a password. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activities that occur under their account.
One Dinner Away reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts in cases of misconduct, repeated no-shows, violation of these Terms and Conditions, or any behavior that undermines the safety, integrity, or proper functioning of the platform.
Users are responsible for providing accurate information during account creation, including their date of birth and gender. For reasons related to safety, fairness, and the proper functioning of the matching system, these details cannot be modified directly after registration. If a user needs to correct such information due to an error or exceptional circumstance, they may contact support, and requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
While One Dinner Away makes reasonable efforts to create balanced and compatible groupings, no guarantee is made regarding personal compatibility, chemistry, satisfaction, or the overall experience with other participants.
By using the Services, users acknowledge and accept that:
One Dinner Away is a social networking facilitator, not a dating or matchmaking agency. While matches are made based on shared interests, the Provider does not guarantee any specific social, personal, or romantic outcomes.
Dissatisfaction with the matching outcome or with other participants does not constitute grounds for a refund, except as expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions.
One Dinner Away may use artificial intelligence tools to assist in creating dinner groups based on information provided by users, including personality, interests, language and other matching preferences. Further information about how user data is processed in connection with AI-assisted matching is provided in our Privacy Policy.
One Dinner Away offers the following ticket options:
All tickets are non-transferable and may only be used by the account holder who purchased them. Tickets cannot be shared or transferred to other users.
Tickets have no expiration date. However, One Dinner Away reserves the right to modify ticket terms, introduce validity periods, or discontinue specific ticket types upon reasonable notice to users.
To maintain the integrity of the group experience, a "Three-Strike Policy" is in effect. Any User who accumulates three (3) "No-Shows" or "Late Cancellations" within a rolling six-month period may have their account permanently suspended or terminated without a refund for any remaining tickets or active subscriptions. Furthermore, One Dinner Away reserves the right to suspend or permanently exclude users who accumulate multiple No-Shows, as this behavior disrupts the experience for other community members.
In accordance with applicable consumer protection laws (including Romanian GEO 34/2014), users have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase, without giving any reason. In accordance with the same law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services related to events scheduled on a specific date or period.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the user must notify One Dinner Away of their decision by email.
If the user expressly requests that the services begin before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period and later exercises the right of withdrawal within that period, the user shall be required to pay an amount proportional to the services already provided up to the time the withdrawal request is communicated.
The proportional amount will be calculated based on:
in relation to the total value and duration of the purchased ticket(s) or subscription.
If the Services have not been used at all during the withdrawal period, the user will receive a refund. One Dinner Away reserves the right to deduct non-refundable third-party transaction commissions (e.g., Stripe fees) from the total amount.
If the services have been partially used, a partial refund will be issued after deducting the proportional amount corresponding to the services already provided.
Refunds will be processed within a reasonable time using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.
The right of withdrawal does not replace the event cancellation policy described above. Once a specific event has taken place, or if the withdrawal period has expired, no right of withdrawal applies.
Tickets and subscriptions remain subject to their respective validity periods, non-transferability rules, and no-show policy, as described in these Terms and Conditions.
Locations are chosen exclusively by One Dinner Away and communicated approximately one day before the event. Food and beverages consumed during the event are not included in the service price and must be paid individually by each participant directly at the venue.
By attending an event, Users agree to abide by the internal regulations and "house rules" of the chosen venue. The Provider is not responsible for any unpaid individual tabs or bills. In the event of non-payment ("dine and dash"), the Provider reserves the right to cooperate with the venue and law enforcement, including the disclosure of the User's identity and contact information.
While One Dinner Away selects reputable venues, One Dinner Away is a facilitator and is not responsible for the food quality, service, or the management of allergies and dietary restrictions. Participants must communicate any specific dietary needs directly to the restaurant staff upon arrival.
One Dinner Away may create optional WhatsApp groups for users participating in events to encourage community engagement, networking, and information about different kinds of events that are not managed by One Dinner Away.
The WhatsApp and Telegram groups will be managed by the One Dinner Away team and the participation of the users in these groups is optional, and users may enter and leave the group at any time. While users may remain in the groups after their initial event, One Dinner Away reserves the right to periodically review group membership. Users who remain inactive or no longer use One Dinner Away services may be removed during these administrative reviews to ensure the quality and security of the community.
Users acknowledge that WhatsApp and Telegram are third-party applications. By joining an optional WhatsApp or Telegram group, the User understands that their phone number and profile information will be visible to all other members of that group. The Provider is not liable for any private communications, harassment, or data misuse occurring between Users outside of the moderated group environment.
Users must behave respectfully in the online groups. Offensive, inappropriate, or sexually explicit language, harassment, or other misconduct is strictly prohibited. One Dinner Away reserves the right to remove any user from the group for violations of these rules or for any behavior deemed inappropriate at its discretion.
One Dinner Away is not responsible for messages posted by users or for interactions between group members outside of the platform or events.
Users are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly during all One Dinner Away events. Harassment, discriminatory behavior, illegal activities, solicitation, or promotion of unauthorized products or services is strictly prohibited.
Violation of these rules may result in removal from the event, suspension or termination of the user's account, and notification to authorities if required by law. One Dinner Away reserves the right to take appropriate action to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
The Provider does not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification of Users. Users acknowledge that participation in events involves interaction with other individuals and agree to exercise appropriate judgment and personal responsibility.
Users participate in events at their own risk and are solely responsible for their own conduct, including the consumption of alcohol or other substances during events. The Provider is not responsible for the behavior of participants, including any interactions occurring before, during, or after events.
The Provider maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment. Any User who feels unsafe or witnesses misconduct during an event is encouraged to report the incident immediately via email to adrian@onedinneraway.com. All reports will be investigated with discretion, and the Provider reserves the right to take immediate action, including permanent exclusion.
The Provider has a Community Guidelines page on the website where the proper behaviour at the events is required.
For each event, the Provider makes available a group chat that allows Users attending the same event to communicate with each other. The group chat opens a few hours before the start of the event and closes a few hours after the start of the event, after which it is no longer accessible to Users.
The group chat is not private. Messages sent in the group chat are visible to the other Users attending the same event and may be accessed by authorized members of the Provider's team for safety, moderation, support, and enforcement of these Terms and Conditions.
The rules set out in Section 12 (User Conduct) apply equally to the group chat. In addition, Users must not share personal information of other Users without their consent, or post content that is offensive, sexually explicit, or unlawful. The Provider reserves the right to remove any message and to suspend or terminate a User's access to the group chat or to the platform in case of violation of these rules.
Users who receive inappropriate messages or witness misconduct in the group chat are encouraged to report it via email to adrian@onedinneraway.com.
Chat messages are stored by the Provider for 7 days after the event and are then permanently deleted, except where they relate to a reported incident.
A) Referral link. Every registered user of the One Dinner Away app (“Referrer”) receives a unique personal referral link, which they may share with people who do not yet have a One Dinner Away account. The referral link does not expire.
B) Qualifying referral. A referral qualifies for a reward only if the invited person (“Referred User”) meets all of the following conditions:
Signing up alone, or purchasing without attending, does not qualify. If the Referred User cancels the booking, does not show up, or receives a refund for that dinner, no reward is granted.
C) Reward. Once all conditions at point B are met, the Referrer receives one (1) free ticket, credited to their account after the date of the event the Referred User attended. The Referrer will be notified by email when the free ticket has been credited. The Referred User does not receive a reward under this program.
D) Free ticket conditions. Free tickets earned through referrals are personal and non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for money.
E) Abuse. Self-referrals (including using one's own link to create additional accounts), fake or duplicate accounts, and sending the referral link through unsolicited bulk messages or spam are not permitted. One Dinner Away may withhold or cancel any reward obtained in breach of these rules and may suspend the accounts involved.
F) Personal data. When a Referred User signs up through a referral link, One Dinner Away records the connection between the two accounts in order to administer the program. The Referred User acknowledges that the Referrer will be informed when a reward is earned, which indicates that the Referred User has attended a dinner. Further details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
G) Changes to the program. One Dinner Away may modify, suspend, or end the referral program at any time. Free tickets already credited before such a change remain valid under their original conditions.
15.1 Definition. A registered user (“Inviting User”) may book an additional seat for a guest (“+1”) at an event organised through One Dinner Away, including dinners, coffee meets, and board game evenings. The +1 does not need an account and has no direct contractual relationship with One Dinner Away.
15.2 Payment. Each +1 seat requires a separately purchased ticket at the standard price. +1 tickets are not covered by ticket packs, subscriptions, or other plans held by the Inviting User and are not eligible for promotional codes or discounts, unless stated otherwise.
15.3 Limits and availability. An Inviting User may invite one +1 per event. +1 seats depend on availability. The +1 will be seated at the same table as the Inviting User and will not be matched separately.
15.4 Responsibility of the Inviting User. By booking a +1, the Inviting User accepts these Terms on behalf of the +1 and confirms that:
15.5 Code of conduct. The +1 must follow the same rules of conduct as registered users. One Dinner Away and the venue may refuse entry to, or remove, a +1 who breaches these rules, without a refund. Repeated or serious breaches by a +1 may lead to restrictions on the Inviting User's account.
15.6 Cancellation by the Inviting User. Only the Inviting User can cancel or modify a +1 booking. If the +1 is cancelled within the timeframe in which cancellation is permitted before the event, the ticket is returned to the Inviting User's account as credit. This credit can be used for a future booking — it cannot be transferred, and cannot be exchanged for money.
15.7 Cancellation of the Inviting User's participation. If the Inviting User cancels their own participation, the +1's participation is cancelled automatically. A +1 cannot attend an event without the Inviting User. The ticket for the +1 is handled under the same cancellation rules as the Inviting User's ticket.
15.8 No-show and late cancellation. If the +1 does not attend the event, or the +1 is cancelled after the deadline in 15.6, the +1 ticket is forfeited and no credit or refund is given.
15.9 Right of withdrawal. The same rules apply as for a regular ticket.
Participation in One Dinner Away events is voluntary, and users are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own safety and belongings during events.
One Dinner Away is not responsible or liable for:
One Dinner Away makes reasonable efforts to select venues that are affordable and of good quality, based on available online ratings and information. However, users acknowledge that One Dinner Away does not have contractual relationships with the venues and cannot guarantee the services, quality, or safety standards of third-party providers.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Dinner Away's liability for any damages or losses arising from participation in events is excluded.
One Dinner Away shall not be liable for any delay, failure, or inability to provide services caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Users acknowledge that refunds, credits, or rescheduling in such cases are handled according to One Dinner Away's discretion and applicable laws.
One Dinner Away processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Romanian data protection laws.
We collect and process data (such as contact details, personality questionnaires information, and booking history) specifically to provide and improve the services, facilitate matching of participants, and manage events.
Users have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of their personal data at any time. For a comprehensive explanation of your rights, data collection and our data retention periods, please consult our Privacy Policy.
One Dinner Away will occasionally update the app to fix bugs or add new features. We reserve the right to temporarily suspend access for scheduled updates. Users are encouraged to install the latest app updates to ensure optimal performance. One Dinner Away platform and user data are hosted on professional servers within the European Union. Technical support is available Monday through Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 (EET), excluding public holidays. Please contact us via email for assistance. Response times may vary based on the complexity of the inquiry.
One Dinner Away reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated via email or other reasonable means. The updated Terms & Conditions will be made available on the platform, and the date of the latest revision will be indicated. We encourage users to review these Terms & Conditions periodically. Where changes materially affect users' rights or obligations, reasonable prior notice will be provided. Continued use of the services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
All content made available on the platform, including text, graphics, logos, branding, and software, is the property of One Dinner Away or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use such content without prior written consent.
Users may upload or share content through the platform or in connection with events (including profile information, messages, or photos). Users retain ownership of their content but grant the Provider a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Services.
By participating in events, Users acknowledge that photos or videos may be taken for community and promotional purposes. Users grant the Provider the right to use such images in connection with the Services, including on the platform and in marketing materials. Users may request the removal of specific content by contacting the Provider.
Users must ensure that any content they provide does not infringe the rights of third parties and complies with applicable laws. The Provider reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. In the event that these Terms are translated into other languages, the English version shall be the legally binding version in the event of any discrepancy.
